At ANIMA, we are passionate about creating solutions that merge industrial design and sustainability. Our latest project, for NZero, in collaboration with Inbroll,ACCIÓ and the Light Mobility Cluster, has posed a new challenge.
The Challenge: Improving lubricant application for bicycle fleets
Public-use bicycles and rental companies’ bikes require regular maintenance to ensure performance and durability. Many municipalities and companies already understand the importance of using environmentally friendly lubricants. NZero manufactures waxes and lubricants based on plants and natural additives, free of mineral-based ingredients, but their applicators are designed for individual users.
With a new larger packaging, it could meet the needs of large fleets. But they wanted to eliminate aerosols to be consistent with their values.
The Problem: The oil’s viscosity makes it difficult to find a suitable applicator
The Light Mobility Cluster hub offered NZero the opportunity to tackle this challenge. So, at ANIMA Design, together with fluid dynamics experts from Inbroll, we worked as a team to develop an automatic lubricant diffusion system specifically designed for NZero products. This system uses cutting-edge technology to apply the precise amount of lubricant to the critical points of the bicycle, ensuring efficient and uniform lubrication.
The Solution: Designing a custom head
In the first phase of the project, we worked on designing a head adapted to the product’s needs.
The Future of Sustainable Industrial Design
At ANIMA Design, we believe that industrial design can transform the way we live and work sustainably. Our project with NZero is just one example of how we use our expertise to create innovative solutions that benefit both the planet and people.
We are excited to continue collaborating with companies like NZero to develop solutions that promote a greener and healthier future for all.
