Miracle is an innovative medical device designed to diagnose prenatal diseases and placental disorders through a non-invasive liquid biopsy. Its goal is to isolate and analyze intact fetal cells to improve the detection of monogenic diseases and discover new placental biomarkers. The international consortium includes Bioliquid, ANIMA Design, and Aptamer Group, combining biotechnology, medical device design, and aptamer development. The device is expected to isolate rare cells in less than an hour, optimizing prenatal diagnosis.
ANIMA Design leads the hardware design and development, ensuring an efficient and accessible product. The project aims for commercialization in Europe and the U.S., positioning itself as a key tool in personalized medicine.
The project has been funded by Eurostars, the European Union, and the Ministry of Science and Innovation – Government of Spain with more than 1.1 million euros.
